Revolutionising energy storage: Lithium ion batteries and beyond
Lorenz Olbrich examines the current state of the battery research and discusses what the future holds going beyond lithium ion batteries.
Lorenz Olbrich is a PhD student in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford. He is currently studying the long-term stability of transition metal fluoride cathodes and liquid electrolyte-lithium metal interphases. He graduated with a BSc and MSc in Chemistry from Technical University of Munich University and ETH Zurich respectively, and researched energy storage and conversion at Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland) and MIT (US). Lorenz is also pursuing an MBA as a Science & Management fellow at the Collège des Ingénieurs next to his DPhil. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed papers.
